Manistique, MI - M&LS Coal loading facility
This is an example of loading coal into steam locomotive tenders with a conveyor belt system. The conveyor often was positioned under the rail car or in a pit below the coal car. Coal traveled up the conveyor and then through the chute into the tender. This is the Manistique & Lake Superior turntable in Manistique.
