Belt Line: Hecla Belt Line

The Hecla Belt line was an east-west route which went between the Hecla cement works on the Saginaw River to the MC Wenona Yard. The original purpose of the Hecla Belt was to bring marl and coal to the Hecla cement works. Later, this line was used for industry on the north side of Bay City including Consumers Power and varios Dow Chemical facilities. The Hecla Belt crossed the Detroit & Mackinac main line and the GTW line to Saginaw Bay at North Bay City.
