Timetable: Soo Line - Ironwood Mine branch

This industrial branch off the Soo Line main line just east of the state line went south to the mines of Ironwood. This was branch was immediately built in 1887 by the Gogebic & Montreal River railroad when they arrived from Mellon, WI.

Time Line

1887. Line was built by the Gogebic & Montreal River railroad and leased to the Wisconsin Central (old) [MRL]

1909. MStP&SSM leases the Wisconsin Central (old) [MRL]

1960's. Branch is abandoned as mining ceases.
