Article: E&LS Fairbanks Morse Railmobile
The Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad utilized a Fairbanks Morse Railmobile as a "passenger train" during the first half of the 20th century. Their unit, numbered 22 by the railroad, was used to carryout a U. S. postal service contract. According to the article, the Railmobile was a partnership which used components from Goodyear (tires), Chrysler (auto chassis) and Fairbanks Morse (track wheel assembly). [Greg Bunce Collection]
