Location: Lincoln Junction, MI

Lincoln Junction was located on the main line of the Detroit & Mackinac railroad about four miles north of Oscoda in Iosco County. The original Detroit, Bay City & Alpena railroad went northwest here, away from Lake Huron, through Lincoln and then back to the lake shore near Black River. The D&M made a number of line improvements in the early 1900's and branched off her to stay along the shore through Harrisville and north. The line through Lincoln was truncated at Lincoln and became the D&M Lincoln Branch.

Notes

Time Line

1907. August 9. There was a collision on what is known as the Lincoln branch of the D&M railroad, north of Au Sable Wednesday evening. A light engine ran into a passenger train and both engines were wrecked and Conductor Eastman slightly injured. The damage to the engines, coupled with the large amount of business the road is doing, has crippled its motive power to such an extent that it was obliged to borrow engines, and two were secured form the Michigan
Central Railroad. [PHTH-1907-0809]
