Location: Hollow Yard, Lansing MI
Hollow Yard was a stub-end yard located along the Grand River, west of Martin Luther King Blvd in Lansing. This yard was reached from the west side of Lansing via the Lansing Manufacturer's Railroad (joint MC/NYC) and serviced the Oldsmobile Plant.
Notes
This was a 9-track stub-end yard. The Grand Trunk Western main line was adjacent and there was an interchange crossover between the GTW and an interchange track just west of Hollow Yard.
The railroad, now operated by the Jackson-Lansing railroad (JAIL), still operates this yard, including a pair of tracks going into the plant. The track appears to go under a parking garage east of MLK Blvd. The entire operation of this line appears to be unused as of 2023.
In 1984, referred to as "New Hollow Yard".
