Location: Lansing, MI - NYC Saginaw Yard
When General Motors began building plants on the west side of Lansing north and south of West Saginaw Street, the NYC (MC and Lake Shore) built the Lansing Manufacturer's Railroad from North Lansing, running parallel to the Pere Marquette north and west to the area. They created Saginaw Yard, north of West Saginaw Street, to service these plants and other industry in the area. The Manufacturer's Railroad branch ran all the way south to the Grand Trunk main line on the south side of Lansing. The yard, which was approximately 1,500 feet long, had six tracks in addition to a running track.

The yard office was located at the south end of the yard.
Time Line
1984. Two tracks in this yard were assigned to the Lansing Waste Water plant, two to Summit Steel, and single tracks to Ashland Chemical Planet Corporation and Universal Steel. [ZTS]
