Bridge: Grand River Bridge, Lansing, MI - (PC)
This bridge was built in 1919 to reach the Board of Water and Light power plant on the west side of the river, north of Shiawassee Street. It is a 3-span 231' bridge with 5' girders. [LPM]. The bridge is used today as a pedestrian walkway.

Time Line
1889. A LS&MS freight train collided with a MC engine on the Belt railroad in Lansing (east of the bridge) the other night. Both engines and three cars were wrecked but the trainmen escaped by jumping. The loss will exceed $20,000. [LDP-1889-1024]
