Location: Britton, MI (Houghton County)

Britton was a location on the Milwaukee Road O&B branch, about one mile east of Pori in Houghton County.


Notes

There was a water station here for locomotives. [ETT-1943] It was moved to here from Pori. Water was pumped from Leveque Creek. [GB]

The Fox telegraph office was here.

Formerly known as the Porterfield & Ellis Lumber Company Spur. It connected to the P&E logging railroad. Siding 1,497' long. [GB]


Time Line

1936. Spur track here is retired. [GB]

1943. The MILW had a railroad telephone line for railroad employees in the section house here. [ETT-1943]
