Isle Royale Mill was an ore processing facility on the Portage Canal in Houghton County. This facility served the Isle Royal Mine which was located up hill from the mill. The mill first operated about 1898.
Time Line
1899. The Isle Royale mine has begun building a three mile long railroad connecting their mine with the mill site at the mouth of the Pilgrim river. Work on the construction of the stamp mill is to be begun this season. [DFP-1899-0730]
