Station: Pori, MI

Pori was a station on the Milwaukee Road Ontonagon branch 20 miles northwest of Sidnaw in Houghton County.

Notes

This was a small village but never had more than a few railroad structures. The depot was 33' x 8' car body that was retired in 1933. There was a 35' x 49' section house, coal house and coal chute. Two spurs coming off the siding led to the Northland Lumber Company's two-stall engine house and another to their logging railroad. These tracks were retired in 1937. The Porterfield & Ellis Lumber Company also had an engine house and small shop at Pori. [GB]

The Pori water tank was 24' in diameter and had a 50,000 gallon capacity. Water was pumped from the company reservoir on Pori Creek. Later moved to Britton. [GB]
