Kerry Interlocking Tower guarded the crossing of the Pere Marquette Petoskey Branch and the GR&I's Traverse City Branch, which crossed just east of the PM station. It was a manned interlocking tower until it was decommissioned and replaced with gates.

1891. The State Crossing Board approved maps of the Proposed route of the C&WM from Traverse City through Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Antrim, Charlevoix and Emmet Counties, to the south line of the Bay View Resort Association grounds. The road will run upon the right of way of the GR&I through the Bay View grounds and no further objection was made by that association. Interlockers were ordered at the crossing of the GR&I at Traverse City (Kerry). [DFP-1891-0408]
