Mayfield was located on the Grand Rapids & Indiana line about three miles north of Kingsley in Grand Traverse County. A sawmill was built here in 1868 and later a grist mill. The town was first called Beulah but changed to Mayfield in 1869. The railroad stop was established in 1872. [MPN]
