Location: Wells, MI - Milwaukee Road Ore Yard

The Milwaukee Road used the Escanaba & Lake Superior main line on a trackage rights agreement to bring ore cars from Channing to their two ore docks at Wells. Coming south on the E&LS, the Milwaukee Road diverged on to their own track and had a marshalling yard, approximately 1/2 mile west of the E&LS yard and roundhouse. At the south end of this yard, tracks curved east to the two Milwaukee Road-owned ore docks (#1 and #2).

This operation ended in the late 1930's when the MILW and C&NW created an ore pooling agreement and began using the C&NW docks at Escanaba.
