Notes
This station was also known as Quinns.
Time Line
1872. As the passenger train was crossing a switch about six miles south of Wells, the switch gave way on account of extreme cold, and the rear car was jerked forcibly from the track and thrown over on its side, tearing the platform entirely off, breaking several windows and otherwise damaging the car badly. There were 12-15 men in the car at the time, but escaped uninjured. The conductor and brakeman, were promptly in the car putting out fires and assisting the passengers to escape, else the accident might have proved more disastrous. [DFP-1872-0216]
