Calumet was located in northwest Lake County. It was a station stop on the Wabash's fourth district which ran between Montpelier, Ohio and Chicago. At this location, the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern crossed the Wabash above grade, and the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal railroad interchanged with the Wabash. [WFD]
