Ottawa Silica Sand Co. in Rockwood Rockwood is a city on the south edge of Wayne County at the Huron River. Rockwood was a station on the Detroit & Toledo Shore Line at milepost 31.2. There was a small yard (Rockwood Storage Yard) here as well as leads to the Rockwood Silica Company. [EFI]

Time Line

1873. The railroad builds a 240 foot, wood bridge over the Huron River here. Four spans of 60' each. [MCR-1872]

1917. The NYC (southbound main line) had a water station here. [ETT-1917]

1917, The MC had an agent-operator here around-the-clock. [TRT]
