Station: Detroit House of Correction, Plymouth, MI
The City of Detroit operated a prison west of Plymouth, Michigan in Wayne County. The prison was in a rural area outside of Detroit and called “The Detroit House of Correction”. It was located next to the Pere Marquette main line (Detroit to Chicago) on Five Mile just east of Ridge Road in Plymouth Township. The prison had a siding at this location probably for delivery of coal.
Notes
On the north side of the PM. Three cell blocks, three dormitories in cell block buildings, 17 out dormitories, administration building, registration building, hospital, recreation building and dining hall. [PM45]
