Location: Oak Yard, Detroit, MI

Oak Yard is now an intermodal yard which services CSX and CP Rail trains in northwest Detroit. It is located at the junction of the Pere Marquette main line (Detroit to Chicago) and the PM West Detroit Branch (the original PM main line into downtown Detroit). The yard runs along the West Detroit branch east of the junction, between approximately Evergreen Street on the west and Greenfield Avenue on the east.

Time Line

1951. Oak Yard is used as a storage yard with a track capacity of 877 cars. The C&O's West Detroit Branch runs east out of this yard and serves many industries located on that line. [COFTD]
