Location: Mount Elliott Crossing, Detroit, MI (GT/DSR)

This was the crossing of the Michigan Central Belt Line in Detroit, with the DSR Street Car Line.


Notes

A 1935 memorandum from the GTW indicates that the crossing shanty at Mt. Elliott in Detroit is owned 50/50 by the GTW and MC. The MC maintains and operates and bills the GT for its share. July 13, 1916 agreement.


Time Line

1920. The Michigan Central installs an 18-lever mechanical interlocking at this location. [RSE-1920-01]

1935. This interlocking tower was discontinued. The MC automated six Belt Line/DSR railroad crossings by installing combination automatic interlockings which were also connected to street crossing signals. [RSE-1936-02]
