Location: Detroit, MI - Forest Avenue (GTW/DUR)
This was a crossing of the Grand Trunk Western main line and the Detroit United Railway at East Forest Avenue in Detroit. This was 800 feet south of E. Warren Avenue.
Notes
Each railroad owned 50% of this interlocking and tower. Each railroad maintains its own derails. Crossing gates are the responsibility of the DGH&M. The gates are operated by the leverman. The DSR owns and maintains the diamonds 100%.
Time Line
1917. The railroad commission approves plans for an interlocking system at this crossing. [MCR-1917]
