Location: Detroit, MI - Grand River Avenue Depot and Crossing of C&GT, LS&MS and MC

This was the crossing of the GTW and the Grand River Avenue street railway in Detroit. In 1903, this was an interlocked crossing with a Saxby & Farmer machine. The interlocking was removed following a grade separation project, with the GTW (and LS&MS) tracks over the highway.

The Detroit & Bay City railroad also established their Detroit depot at this crossing in 1877. They note that patrons could disembark to street railway cars every five minutes. This was likely in addition to using the MC Third Street station. [DFP-1875-0103]

Notes

This location today is on Grand River at the Jeffries expressway.
