Station: Melvin, MI

PM Melvin Depot Melvin was founded in Sanilac County in 1862. It was later incorporated as a village in 1907. [MPN]. Melvin was located in southern Sanilac County about five miles east of Brown City.

Time Line

1917. June 20. A derailment on the Pere Marquette railway near Melvin kills two and injures one.  ICC Report [PDF]

1938. The Pere Marquette requests permission from the MPUC to close its depots at Millbrook, Biteley, Melvin and Grawn, explaining that they are no longer necessary to meet public convenience. [EDP-1938-0305]
