Location: Saginaw, MI - Bristol Street Crossing (MC/SVT)
This was a crossing of the Michigan Central JL&S line and the Saginaw Valley Traction Company railroad along Bristol Street in Saginaw. This appears to be just west of the Holland Avenue bridge over the Saginaw River.
Images: A postcard view of the Bristol Street Bridge over the Saginaw River, just east of the crossing location. Note the interurban (SVT) line across the bridge. 2nd photo, a view of the same bridge after it was destroyed by a flood in 1916.
Notes
Bristol Street still exists west of the river, but the new bridge is a part of the Holland Street Bridge.
Time Line
1902. The Michigan Railroad Commission orders installation of a safety switch on the MC tracks about sixty feet from the north side of the interurban crossing, to be opened against the MC and operated by its trainmen. [MCR-1903]
1916. The Bristol Street bridge over the Saginaw River was destroyed by a flood.
