Location: Rogers City Junction, MI

When the Detroit & Mackinac railroad built a branch north to serve Rogers City and the huge Michigan Limestone Quarry, they called the junction point Rogers City Junction. The railroad had a wye here, as well as a passing track on the northeast leg of the wye. Prior to building this branch, there was a location called "South Rogers City" which was near here. The railroad likely booked express for this location and it was carried north through the woods by stage to Rogers City until the branch was built.

1893. The Rogers City station of the Alpena & Northwestern [sic] railroad will be either at Hines or Hoffman's, as the people of Rogers City shall decide, but the railroad company would prefer the last name as there is a much better location for a long siding. Rails are laid to Hoffman's, which is about eight miles beyond Posen, and as soon as the ballasting is completed freight and passengers will be taken there. It is expected to run trains as far as Hoffman the latter part of the week. The distance from Hoffman to Rogers City is nine miles, and a stage line will be run between the two places.
