Notes
Time Line
June 21, 1908. Village destroyed. The village of Case, in Presque Isle county, was destroyed (by fire) early yesterday. A special train conveyed the homeless villagers to Onaway where they were sheltered overnight. Case, at one time, was a thriving town, but since the decline of the lumber industry it has lost many of its inhabitants. It is doubtful if the town will be rebuilt. Among the buildings destroyed were the railway station, schoolhouse and general store. [DFP-6/22/1908]
