Herrington was established in 1888 as a station on the Grand Rapids & Indiana's (later PRR) Muskegon Branch, about 3 miles northwest of Grand Rapids. [MPN]

1931. The MPUC grants permission to the Pennsylvania railroad to discontinue the non-agency station at Herrington in Ottawa County and remove its side track. [MPUC-1931]
