Station: Fairview, MI

Fairview is a town which is located in northeast central Oscoda County. It was settled about 1883. [MPN] The AuSable & North Western railroad came through here on a forest branch line from Twin Lake Junction northwest to Lewiston in Montmorency County.

Fairview is also the location of several tourist and personally owned 1/4 gauge railroads in the vicinity, including the AuSable Valley Railroad on Abbe Road south of Fairview.

Time Line

1893. May. The AS&NW railroad notes in a report to the Michigan Commissioner of Railroads that they replaced a 1,400 foot long bridge near Fairview, because it had been destroyed by fire. [MCR-1894]
