LeRoy was settled when the Grand Rapids & Indiana (later PRR) came through here in 1871. The settlement was incorporated as a village in 1873.
LeRoy was on the GR&I's south-north route between Grand Rapids and Mackinaw City. It was about 15 miles north of Reed City in Osceola County.
