Choate was a location in Ontonagon County, about 12 miles northwest of Watersmeet, along the Choate River. It was served by the C&NW Choate branch north from Watersmeet.
Notes
There was always talk of the C&NW to build north from Choate to the Houghton/Copper Country to complete with the DSS&A and Milwaukee Road which were encroaching on their iron mining business on the Gogebic and Menominee ranges. Several surveys were noted in newspapers of the time. The extension was never built.
