Station: Paynesville, MI

Paynesville was settled about 1890 in McMillan Township in Ontonagon County. It became a station stop on the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic railroad at milepost 246.8 about three miles northwest of Agate Falls. [MPN] It should not be confused with Painsdale in Houghton County. This station was also known as Paynesdale.
