Station: Slocom, MI (Muskegon County)
Slocum was settled about 1865 around a saw mill. It was also known as Slocum's Grove. [MPN] Slocum was located on the Grand Trunk Western line to Muskegon west of the Muskegon/Kent County border.

Time Line
1888. July. N.P. Glann's saw mill, which is located at Slocum's Grove, a small station on the TS&M railroad, caught fire Wednesday morning about 6 o'clock and was entirely destroyed. The fire is supposed to have originated by a spark from a passing locomotive, as the mill was not running at the time. [SWC-1888-0726]
1917. The GTW had an agent here during the day shift. [TRT]
