Station: Carbondale, MI

Carbondale, in Menominee County, was settled around the charcoal kilns of the Menominee Furnace Company and the sawmills of E.P. Sherlok about 1881. [MPN]

Notes

The townsite was located on the Chicago & North Western main line between Menominee and Powers, specifically about half way between Menominee and Stephenson. This was in Menominee Township, Section 3 of T33N-R27W.

The railroad had a "car body" style depot which was removed in 1932. The railroad had a short 657' siding here. [CNWV]
