Location: Lake Shore Engine Works, Marquette, MI
The Lake Shore Engine Works was located in Marguette north of Lighthouse Point on Marquette Bay. It was served by the LS&I Railway.
This company was originally known as the Lake Superior Foundry Company, founded by Charles T. Harvey in 1858, builder of the Soo Locks and the first elevated railroad system in New York city. The company became the Lake Shore Engine Works in 1910.

Notes
According to the Mining Journal, this industrial facility was built at 955 Lakeshore Boulevard in 1890 and manufactured mining, milling and general machinery. The abandoned complex was torn down in 2017.
The company's focus has been on maritime and mining equipment. In 1838, it merged with the Service & Supply Company of Iron Mountain, and became the Lake Shore Engineering Company.
Current products include shipboard cranes, anchor handling systems, elevators, ramps and doors. The company is currently known as Lake Shore Systems, Inc. [UMS-2018-0726]]
