Location: Diorite, MI
Diorite was a location on the Lake Superior & Ishpeming railroad just west of Blueberry Mine, in western Marquette County. ]LSI2] This was in Ely Township on the south edge of Section 32, T48N-R28W.
The DSS&A had a branch line from Blueberry Jct. to Diorite and it used the C&NW/LS&I for the last mile of track to the Blueberry Mine which was just east of Diorite. [DSSM]

The DSS&A crossed the C&NW to reach the American Mine, just west of Diorite. [CNWV]

1927. August. The DSS&A crossing of the C&NW here to the American Mine was removed. [CNWV]
1928. The DSS&A wye to the C&NW going east was built to reach the Blueberry Mine. [CNWV]
