Location: Leaf, MI
Leaf was a location southwest of Adrian on the Wabash main line. The DT&I originally crossed the Wabash at this location to reach Adrian but in the 1950's the crossing was removed and the DT&I was given trackage rights on the Wabash. Leaf was the south limit of these trackage rights and they had a controlled junction here.
Image info: Top, a 1958 drawing of the track segment between Leaf and north to Page, the limits of the DT&I trackage rights on the Wabash. The junction had a controlled switch and signals, controlled via CTC by the Wabash dispatcher in Montpieler, OH. For northbound DT&I trains, they had a "Leaf - 2000'" sign before reaching the crossing.
