Mill: Hills Creek Mill, Allouez, MI
The Hills Creek Mill was a stamp mill operated by the Allouez Mining Company, about three miles northeast of Allouez along Hills Creek.
It was reached by a 3 foot gauge railroad, running northwest to the Hills Creek Mill mill from Allouez Mine.

Time Line
1880. The mill began operation. It was used off and on depending on the output of the Allouez Mine.
1897. The nearby Wolverine Mine leased one head at the Hills Creek Mill, which had been idled for five years. The Hancock & Calumet railroad (MR/DSS&A) created a connection from Wolverine Shaft #4 to the Allouez Mine railroad. The Allouez mill stamped Wolverine rock until 1902. [CRR]
