1871. January. The DH&I railroad is complete to Hillsdale, and regular trains will run to that city by the middle of the month. [LSJ-1871-0112]
1871. February 23. The DH&I ran two round trip trains each day, leaving the MC station at the foot of Third Street at 7:10 am and 4:00 pm, arriving at Hillsdale at 12:45 pm and 10:00 pm. The eastbound trains left Hillsdale at 4:40 am and 2:45 pm, arriving at Detroit at 9:50 am and 6:35 pm. The trains stopped at Ypsilanti and Manchester. D.L. Quirk (of Ypsilanti) is superintendent.
