This was the last successor to one of the three railroads which made up the bulk of the Pere Marquette railroad in 1899.

Notes
This line consolidated Detroit, Lansing & Northern, Grand Rapids, Lansing & Detroit, Saginaw and Grand Rapids, Saginaw Valley and St. Louis, and the Saginaw and Western in 1897. Two years later it merged into Pere Marquette railroad system.
