Location: Black Lake, MI - Onaway Limestone Company Quarry

The Onaway Limestone Quarry was located about five miles north of Onaway in Presque Isle County. It was reached by a short branch line from the D&M main line at Onaway.

Time Line

1903. The Onaway Limestone Company is working about 75 men at its big quarry at Black Lake. The D&M reaches this plant by a five mile spur from Onaway. The quarry company is now shipping sugar beet stone and steam drills are being installed in the main quarry after which the output of the quarry will be heavy. [DFP-1903-1130]
