Location: Dunn Location, Crystal Falls, MI

This was a logging camp located west of the Dunn Mine southwest of Crystal Falls. The area was logged by the Sawyer-Goodman company.

1912. William Bowman, engineer on the logging engine at the Sawyer-Goodman camp was badly scaled in a rear end collision and his brother who was firing on the engine with him received severe bruises which will keep him in the hospital for several days. The brothers are at Dr. Larson's hospital in Crystal Falls and resting easily at this writing. The engineer will be confined to the hospital for six weeks.

The engine had shoved a number of cars up to the top of a grade and left them, supposing that they were securely anchored. The engine was uncoupled and started away down the track when the cars got loose and started down the track after the engine. The men in the cab didn't see the cars approaching, the first intimation they had of danger being the crash. William Bowman was caught between the cab and tender and burned badly.
