Time Line

1902. The railroad commission became involved in a problem at a public crossing of the line in Detroit. An automatic electric alarm bell had been located at the crossing and was not giving satisfactory service. The railroad was required to reconstruct the bell so as to provide that it be operated by a track circuit, instead of a wire circuit. This work was performed and the appliance was then working satisfactorily. [MCR-1903]
