Owned by: J. I Adams and J. F. Foley and later by a company of which Harvey H. Brown was Presient. Later operated by Breitung Hematite Mining Co. (E. N. Breitung & Co. agent). Now held by Jones and Laughlin Ore Co.

Produced: Iron Ore, red, semi-hard, non-bessemer.

Method: Underground, worked by caving and stoping systems. Depth, 385 feet.

Railroad connection: DSS&A to Marquette ore dock.

Until: 1915

Lifetime Production: 532,022 tons between 1879 and 1915, including tonage from the Wheeling, Davis, Milwaukee and Milwaukee-Davis mines.

Notes

Includes the old Milwaukee Mine (SE-NW Sec. 7) which opened in 1879 and closed in 1890, and Davis Mine (old Wheeling mine, SW-NW Sec. 7) which opened in 187 and closed in 1896.

Began shipping as Milwaukee-Davis in 1911; last shipment in 1915.
