In Section 28. Also known as the Section 28 mine. Explorations here in 1902. In 1908, this mine had a concrete reinforced shaft (to bedrock) because of the amount of ground water present. The east branch of the Escanaba River was rerouted  200' north of the mine along the Munising railway tracks. [LSMI-1909]
