Time Line
1890. The Davis or New Davis mine opened in 1890 and shipped through 1937.
1915. The West Davis (formerly also called the North Newport) opened in 1915, and shipped until 1948.
1923. Royal Mine now included in Geneva Mine.
1944. The Oliver Iron Mining leased all of these properties in 1902 and all shipments thereafter were by that company. The Geneva, Royal. David, and West Davis have been operated as a group; under the name Geneva since 1944; previously sometimes called the Geneva-Davis group.
