Notes

West of Norwich.

The Sharon Mine was first worked about 1852 southwest of the hamlet of Norwich in Ontonagon County. [MPN]

The Sharon Mining Company was organized in 1852 to work lands formerly held by the American Mining Company. The mine consisted of two shafts sunk on a trap deposit that crossed the property. Drifting was conducted between the shafts in 1854; however, very little copper was found. No ore shipments were recorded from the mine. It is believed the mine was abandoned around 1855. [MINDAT]
