Time Line

1864. Our mine has opened one principal lode at a point along for a distance near 2,000 feet. It is of a splendid character and well filled with stamps copper. We have picked out of the surface several small pieces of pure copper. The lode is well defined, well walled, and of an excellent composition. We have our roads in good condition. Several dwellings complete and are building two more to accommodate the lumbermen. We soon expect our first engine and saw mill, and expect to be all ready to put them up and to work as soon as they arrive. [DFP-1864-0630]
