Timetable: C&NW - Gibbs City Branch - Hazel to Gibbs City (EOT)

The Gibbs City branch was built in 1887, as the CNW's main line was constructed west from Iron River to Watersmeet. This was a 6.6 mile long branch used primarily for forest products. It was removed in 1970.

Today, Gibbs City is a ghost town. In its day, it had a sawmill on the Paint River and at one time had 200 residents. In 1921, a fire burned down the mill. A post office remained until 1952 and in 1966 the remaining buildings were burned in a controlled fire. [Wiki]
