Station: Toivola, MI

Tiovola Depot Tiovola is a hamlet located along M-28 about six miles south of Painesdale. It was settled around 1894 as a logging camp. It had a station on the Copper Range railroad in Houghton County.

Notes

Tiovola had a 20' x 58' frame depot built in 1908. It also had a coal shed and two section houses built in 1900.


Time Line

1933. The railroad had a line-side telephone for crew use in the Toivola Freight House.
