Station: Florence, WI

Florence is a town just west of Iron Mountain, MI in Florence County. The town is the county seat. It is located in Section 28 of T40N-R18E and just north of Fisher Lake.

The C&NW served the Florence Mine which was northwest of town.


Notes

The C&NW line from Iron Mountain to Watersmeet came through here.

The railroad had a bay-window style depot here. This was at milepost 41.8.

The C&NW had a 16' x 24' water tank just west of the deot.


Time Line

1918. The C&NW had an agent and a telegraph operator on the day shift.

1931. The line to the Florence Mine was removed.
